The Native Women’s Association of Canada (NWAC) is founded on the collective goal to enhance, promote, and foster the social, economic, cultural and political well-being of First Nations, Métis and Inuit women. NWAC is an aggregate of thirteen Native women’s organizations from across Canada and was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1974.

Concern and confusion as police approach people who testified at MMIWG inquiry | CBC News
Before the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls wrapped in June, it sent referral letters to some police forces requesting they "take further action" relating to some of the testimony heard during the inquiry. But it never informed those who testified it was doing so and didn't give police instructions on how to follow through, leaving both sides frustrated.
